I is for Incredible, Soul Deep, Bone Weary Fatigue

I didn't notice my steps slowing until it was too late. My limbs felt heavy, like moving through water, and every breath was an effort.  I had never wanted anything more than I wanted sleep.  Rest.  Dark. Quiet and uninterrupted.
I stumbled over my heavy feet, watching the grassy lawn rise up to meet me.  I turned my head and curled up in the fetal position, my eyelashes fluttering closed as I surrendered to the whispering promise of a deep oblivion as dark and warm as a mother's womb.
The last sight I remember before I closed my eyes was the perfect ring of white mushrooms arching across my view, curling around the place where I slept.

...inspired by exactly how tired I am at this moment.  I just couldn't miss an A to Z day...

  3. Quote from Fairytale: A true Story. "Never, ever step inside a fairy ring." The faeries could spirit you away you know.
Well, you can if you want that to happen I guess...
