Insecure Writers Support Group- Inspiration

Happy Independence day.  I needed a dose of inspiration, and I thought maybe some of my other writer friends out there might need it too.

If you are feeling down about those soul-stealing rejection letters, check this out:
Famously successful people who failed at first.  The list is huge, but they all have one thing in common- they never stopped trying.

    Thanks for the link - I'm bookmarking this to refer to whenever the writer downs gets the better of me. It's amazing how many iconic figures had to struggle so much before they hit it big (Lincoln really surprised me).

    Kaye, I'm so sorry to hear about the soul-stealing rejection letters. I'll be querying in two months and I'm expecting lots of soul-crushing things in my inbox, too. Ah, well, that's the biz. I hope request starts outnumbering the rejections.

      When the requests come, they more than make up for it ;) I got a really nice one today from an agent that I thought was a shot in the dark !

    I love looking over famous people who failed at first. I especially take comfort in the story of Walt Disney, being told he had no good ideas/imagination. It's always perked me up if I feel down. I also love J.K. Rowling's success story. (:

      Thanks! Can I just say that I think it's awesome that you are following your dream at such a young age? I wish I had let myself do that! Now I have to catch up :) But it is what it is. Best of luck!

      Hope springs eternal... I've said it before, I know better than to hope I'll be one of those wild success stories, but it never stops me from thinking, every time: this is the one! I just know it!
